After Charlie Morris’ participation in the Great Swim at Salford, I headed to Ipswich in Suffolk to check out the next event in the Great Swim series, the Great East Swim. Keep an eye out for this event next year and in the mean time get some practice in the remaining events of the Great Swim series – London and Strathclyde.
The Great Swim Series has only been running since 2008, and is billed as “the UK’s biggest mass participation open water swimming series”. While the original event was held in Lake Windermere, in 2011 there are five events taking place in Salford, Suffolk, Windermere, London and Strathclyde.
