Introducing: Ultramarathon runner Scott Jurek

With over 22,000 followers on Twitter and nearly 25,000 Likes on his Facebook page, ultramarathon runner Scott Jurek is one athlete who is making the most of his remarkable career in ultramarathon running by regularly beaming a new lifestyle paradigm to his fans.

Scott’s race history is mighty, packed with wins at most elite ultra marathon trail and road events including the Hardrock 100, the Badwater 135-mile Ultramarathon, the Miwok 100K, the 153-mile Spartathlon and his signature race, the Western States 100 Mile Endurance Run which he has won a record seven times in a row.

As a firm advocate of vegetarianism, Scott has committed to maintaining a 100% plant-based diet since 1999. Scott was one of the elite runners who traveled to Mexico to run with the Tarahumara Indians, as profiled in the Chris McDougall’s bestseller Born to Run. In his new book, Eat and Run, Scott Jurek opens up about his life and career as an elite athlete and a vegan. Scott’s book is set for release on June 5 and can be previewed on Amazon.
