Will Ross, March 13, 2025

Located within the grounds of Dundreggan Rewilding Centre, An Spiris is a simple accommodation with ideally catering to the active traveller visiting Loch Ness at the doorway to the Scottish Highlands. The guesthouse has 20 bedrooms with simple interiors and a pair of communal kitchens to service self-catered stays.
There are no additional facilities within the guesthouse, but breakfast and lunch is served at Dundreggan Rewilding Centre located on the same property (200m walk).

Training Notes
An Spiris and Dundreggan Rewilding Centre are located between the gentle River Moriston and the hillside which leaps up and north to Glen Affric. Glen Afric one of Scotland’s jewels and an inspiration for the replanting effort taking place at Dundreggan.
Gravel biking is plenty, with climbs available to the north in the direction of Glen Affric, as well as to the south to Fort Augustus. Road cycling routes are an option, but the busy traffic on the west shore of Loch Ness interrupts a gentle ride. Gravel and road bikes can be rented in Inverness from 42Cycling, and then taken on the bus from Inverness to the driveway to Dundreggan.

Runners can tour the trails the cover the hillside above An Spiris, and should be wary of the roadway that leads into Dundreggan (cars diving up to 60mph).
Swimmers won’t find a swimming pool anywhere nearby, but the River Moriston has a couple of meanders near the property’s driveway – optional open water swimming within the river.
