The Triglav Trail Run is held in the Julian Alps, Slovenia, with the starting and finishing line in Mojstrana. This region is dominated by Mount Triglav, Slovenia’s highest peak, and is part of the broad landscape of the Triglav National Park.

The terrain is highly varied and challenging even for seasoned trail runners, encompassing steep mountain walls, narrow hiking trails and sections of comfortable mule tracks. Runners navigate rocky and technical sections, as well as forest paths and some gravel roads, offering a diverse mountain running experience. The course involves significant elevation changes, ascending past bivouacs and huts, and traversing valleys and high alpine plateaus.

The event typically takes place in late summer, specifically from the 22nd to the 23rd of August in 2025. It offers multiple race profiles to cater to different abilities, including the demanding 78km “Triglav Trail Race,” a 44km “Triglav Lakes Race,” a 26km “Vrata Valley Race,” and a shorter 12km “Slovenian Alpine Museum Run.”
