The Quince Tree Cafe, Clifton Nurseries, London

, August 23, 2017

Those who regularly cycle and hike in the southern reaches of the Chilterns Hills will remember the wonderful The Quince Tree Cafe in the hamlet of Stonor, closed recently to the dismay of regulars. The venue was home to a grocery store, a bar and a spacious cafe – a truly exceptional location hewn into a chalky hillside with a backdrop of silver birches.

Fortunately the joys of excellent, simple dishes is also available in London alongside the Little Venice junction of the canal.  The Quince Tree, Clifton Nurseries is wrapped with two acres of pot plants overflowing with greenery, a kind of inverted heart of darkness approach with wonderful hospitality at its midpoint. A greenhouse cafe is home to this London cafe, bathed in brilliant light with cute furnishings for conservatory dining.

A hearty menu includes a range of healthy dishes and drinks, including gluten-free and dairy-free options. Fresh smoothies and juices can be paired with your favourite breakfast option, while tapas-style dishes enter the lunch menu alongside larger offerings. Of course coffee and teas are served throughout the day.

The Quince Tree at Clifton Nurseries is open seven days a week, from 9am to 5:30pm Monday to Saturday, and from 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
